Michael Robinson, protagonist of the first day of the Festival

If there is a name that has sounded today at the BCN Sports Film Festival, that has been the journalist, director and sports commentator Michael Robinson, who has dedicated all day to events related to the Festival.

In the morning, Robinson went to the Penitentiary Center of Brians 1, where the Robinson Report documentary “Refugiadas del fútbol”, of which he is co-director, has been screened. After the viewing, Robinson was able to exchange impressions about the production with the Center’s development.

In the afternoon he went to the Filmoteca de Catalunya to participate in the session-colloquium that has been named after the famous phrase of Nelson Mandela “Sport has the power to change the World”, and which has dealt with the theme of sport and social development.

There he participated in the round table composed by Marta Carranza, President of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and Commissioner of Sports of the Barcelona City Council; Manel Vila, General Director of Development Cooperation; Jaume Mora, member of the International Sociological Sport Observatory; Gerard Figueres, Secretary General of Sports; Mariona Miret, Program Manager of the FC Barcelona Foundation and the Director of the Film Library, Esteve Riambau, who has served as moderator.

Once the round table has finished, several documentaries have been projected where the theme of sport linked to development has been very present.

And finally, Michael Robinson has moved to the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum, to participate in the Opening Ceremony of the ninth edition of the Festival. During the gala a tribute has been paid for his dedication to the dissemination of sports values. The award was given by Manel Vila, Director of Development Cooperation of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
