Today is a busy day at the BCN Sports Film Festival. Five of the official venues in this year’s edition have some projections today. A very interesting program!
At the Centre Cívic Ateneu Fort Pienc the audience can see one of the most interesting sport documentaries, Steve McQueeen: The Man & Le Mans, the true story of a legend who risked everything to make his dream a reality. He fought to make “the definitive movie about car racing”.
The Centre Cívic Sant Martí – Auditori de Sant Martí presents Pawn Sacrifice, a feature film with renowned stars such as Tobey Maguire or Liev Schreiber. The film flashbacks to the legendary world championship clash between Bobby Fischer, the American chess champion and Boris Spassky, the Soviet champion.
Double screening session in the Cinemes Can Castellet. The first one, will delight the viewers with eight inspiring shorts film for the youngest audience. The second one, will include some productions from all over the world (UK, Quebec, Estonia, France, Italy and Sweden).
In the Biblioteca de Ponent (Sabadell), we will visit the valleys of the Triqui region (Mexico). A group of children have been winning basketball championships all over the world for years, overcoming the difficulties caused by the abrupt geography of their home town, and becoming the main source of development and hope for their community. The documentary Gigantes Descalzos will not go unnoticed!
In the Biblioteca Districte 5 (Terrassa), you will have the privileged to discover four short films: Namesake (Philippines), In Our Country (Germany), Milk Race: On and On (UK) and Real Men Don’t Cry (Spain).
