That the BCN sports Film festival has gone from strength to strength over the years is epitomised by the 2016 edition.

Nearly 100 films will be screened in this 7th year of the Festival in the different sessions which will be held between 3rd and 7th May. The venues this year will be the traditional ones of the Museu Olimpic i de l’Esport and the Sala Àmbit Cultural of the Corte Inglés in Barelona. However, they are joined this year by the Fort Pienc Civic Centre, the Ateneu Barcelonès and the municipal cinemas at the Can Castellet in Sant Boi de Llobregat. We will, of course, be continuing with our tradition of programming sessions in several of Catalonia’s penitentiary establishments.

This year’s edition has attracted a record participation with over 400 films from 40 countries vying for a place in the official sections: documentaries; works of fiction; animated works; special effects and TV spots are some of the masterpieces on show.

The majority of films taking part have been previously shown at or even awarded prizes  at international festivals such as: San Sebastian; the Festival International de Court Métrage de Clermont Ferrand; the Cannes Festival; the Bernale;, the OffsideFest; the Tous Courts at Aix-enProvence, the Off Courts Festival at Trouville or the Regard Festival in Quebec amongst others.

Get  out your evening wear to welcome sport and film. Our one big star, the public, is called to participate in this must-do event with the world’s best sports cinema. Let the show begin!
