Of the more than 400 films from 40 countries that aspired to take part in the 2016 BCN Sports Film, nearly 100 films are competing in the official section of this seventh edition of the Festival.
Films will be shown in 25 themed sessions with the stars being the most popular sports, Olympic and Paralympic events as well as lesser known sports from around the world. The 2016 BCN Sports Film Festival will showcase the challenges and dreams that come true.
One of the main innovations for this seventh year is the addition of new venues. The traditional Joan-Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sport Museum and the Sala Àmbit Cultural of the Corte Inglés in Portal de l’Àngel will be joined by the cinemas in Can Castellet in Sant Boi de Llobregat, l’Ateneu Barcelonès, l’Auditori Sant Martí and the Fort Pienc Civic Centre. Once again, the Festival will be taken to a number of penal institutions around Catalonia.
The majority of the sessions are for the general public and they are, of course, all free of charge.
