The sixth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival was presented today at an event staged at Barcelona Town Hall’s ‘Saló de Cròniques’. The presentation was attended by Xavier Amador, Director of Institutional Relations at the Quality of Life, Equality and Sports Department of Barcelona City Council, accompanied by Jordi Romañach, Director of Communication and External Relations at El Corte Inglés – Catalonia, the festival sponsor, motorbike racer Laia Sanz, ambassador of this sixth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival, and Agustí Argelich, the festival’s director.
Agustí Argelich was at pains to emphasise that although it is a young festival, it is firmly committed to continuing the growth seen over recent editions.
This year’s festival will feature 400 screenings from 40 countries intended for all audiences and free of charge.
The Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sport Museum on Montjuic and the Cultural Gallery of El Corte Inglés in the heart of Barcelona will be the official venues. The Barcelona French Institute and Torre Barrina in Hospitalet de Llobregat will also, as subsidiary festival venues, be hosting a number of BCN Sports Film Festival screenings.
The Barcelona Olympic Foundation organises the BCN Sports Film Festival with the collaboration of Nikita Events and sponsorship by El Corte Inglés, within the context of its international, sporting and cultural profile.
